IOTA 1203A is a highly active, low-viscosity hydroxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (α,ω-dihydroxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane), specifically designed for structure control in silicone rubber processing. Featuring high active content (≥9.0%) and low viscosity (≤10 mm²/s), it rapidly penetrates and disperses uniformly in silicone rubber systems, effectively inhibiting the structuring phenomenon during compound storage.
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Colorless transparent liquid |
| Viscosity (25°C), mm²/s | ≤10 |
| Active content (equivalent to hydroxyl content) | ≥9.0% |
| Packaging | 200 kg iron drum |
✅ High active content (≥9.0%) – high active hydroxyl content reacts more thoroughly with silica filler surface hydroxyls for excellent passivation
✅ Ultra-low viscosity (≤10 mm²/s) – excellent flowability, easy to meter, mix, and disperse – suitable for automated production lines
✅ Outstanding structure control – superior inhibition compared to other structure control agents (e.g., methoxy silicone oils), effectively extending compound storage time
✅ Improved processability – significantly enhances compound flowability, reduces remilling frequency, lowers Mooney viscosity, and improves production efficiency
✅ Stable quality – colorless and transparent with excellent batch-to-batch consistency
During silicone rubber compounding, active hydroxyl groups on filler surfaces (such as silica) physically and chemically interact with silicone rubber molecular chains, causing filler agglomeration and compound hardening – the “structuring” phenomenon. IOTA 1203A, with its highly reactive terminal hydroxyl groups, preferentially reacts with silica surface hydroxyls to “passivate” them, effectively preventing the formation of three-dimensional network structures and maintaining compound processing stability.
High-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV) – acts as an efficient structure control agent, inhibiting compound structuring during storage and processing
Addition-cure liquid silicone rubber (LSR) – improves filler dispersibility and system flowability
Compound production – extends compound storage time, reduces remilling steps, and improves product transparency
Recommended dosage: Typically 6–10 parts per 100 parts of base polymer, to be determined experimentally based on formulation and process conditions
Addition method: Add together with silica filler during the compounding stage and mix thoroughly
200 kg iron drum packaging
Store sealed in a ventilated, dry warehouse away from moisture and contamination
✅ High active content (≥9.0%) – low dosage, significant effect
✅ Low viscosity (≤10 mm²/s) – rapid dispersion, process-friendly
✅ Superior structure control – outperforms other structure control agent types
✅ Enhanced processing flowability – reduces remilling, improves efficiency
✅ High product transparency – improves product quality
✅ Suitable for various silicone rubber systems – HTV, LSR, compounds, and more
