IOTA 8866 Diol Hydroxyl End-capped Silicones is a highly reactive organosilicon prepolymer widely used in resin modification. Product Features:
IOTA 8866 is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with an average molecular weight of 4250. It has a viscosity range of 800-1800 cst (25°C) and a hydroxyl content of 0.8%. Its high reactivity and low surface tension allow excellent compatibility and leveling in resin modification.

Application Fields and Problems Solved:

• Silicone-modified Polyurethane Resin:
  IOTA 8866 reacts with isocyanates to form -NCO-end-capped prepolymers, significantly improving the resin's wear resistance, anti-adhesion, and anti-graffiti properties, solving issues of traditional polyurethane resins such as wear and adhesion problems.

• Silicone-modified Polyester Resin:
  Adding IOTA 8866 to polyester resins imparts a smooth feel and improved anti-soiling properties, addressing the issues of rough texture and easy contamination in conventional polyester resins.

• Two-component PU Baking Paint and Amino Baking Paint:
  IOTA 8866 disperses evenly with the main resin, enhancing leveling and gloss, resolving issues of uneven surfaces and poor gloss in traditional baking paints.

Usage Instructions:
For silicone PU resins and emulsions, it is recommended to co-polymerize with isocyanates at 85°C. For two-component PU or amino baking paints, IOTA 8866 can be directly added to the main resin and evenly dispersed.

Packaging and Storage:
IOTA 8866 is available in 125ml brown glass bottles, 25KG plastic drums, or 200KG plastic drums. It has a shelf life of 24 months when stored in unopened conditions at room temperature.
