IOTA 252 Methyl Phenyl Vinyl Silicone Oil – Reactive Base Material for High-Performance Silicone Rubber

Hits: 453 img

In aerospace, automotive industries, and high-temperature sealing applications, silicone rubbers are required to exhibit exceptional heat resistance, elasticity, and radiation resistance. IOTA 252 Methyl Phenyl Vinyl Silicone Oil, as a vinyl-terminated linear methyl phenyl silicone oil, provides an ideal reactive base material for manufacturing high-performance phenyl silicone rubber.

Core Performance Advantages:

  • Excellent Heat Resistance: Phenyl structure significantly enhances high-temperature resistance, suitable for long-term use above 250°C.

  • High Elasticity Retention: Maintains excellent elasticity and flexibility across a wide temperature range.

  • Radiation Resistance: Phenyl siloxane structure imparts good radiation resistance.

  • Controlled Reactivity: Dual vinyl end groups allow adjustment of crosslinking density by varying the proportion of hydrogen-containing silicone oil.

Technical Specifications:

Viscosity (mm²/s) Vinyl Content (wt%) Flash Point (COC) Recommended Applications
100 3.1 ± 1 >100°C Low-viscosity potting compounds
1000 1.5 ± 0.2 >150°C Medium-viscosity molding compounds
3000 0.7 ± 0.1 >200°C High-viscosity extrusion compounds
5000 0.4 ± 0.1 >200°C Specialty sealants

Note: All specifications are colorless transparent oily liquids with a specific gravity of 1.05–1.10.

Main Application Areas:

  • High-Temperature Sealing Materials: Engine seals, high-temperature pipeline seals.

  • Specialty Rubber Products: Radiation-resistant rubber components, aerospace seals.

  • Composite Material Modification: Toughening agent for high-temperature-resistant resins.

  • Specialty Coatings: High-temperature protective coatings, insulating coatings.

Usage Recommendations:

This product can be used as the primary base material for addition-cure phenyl silicone rubber, combined with appropriate hydrogen-containing silicone oil, fillers, and catalysts. It can also serve as an active diluent for vinyl phenyl silicone resins to reduce viscosity without compromising final performance. It is recommended to operate in a clean environment to avoid contamination by catalyst poisons.

Packaging and Storage:

Available in 5 kg, 25 kg, and 200 kg industrial packaging. Store in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures.
