IOTA 5160 is a difunctional chlorosilane monomer containing two readily hydrolyzable Si–Cl bonds and a chloromethyl (–CH₂Cl) functional group. It serves as a core intermediate for the synthesis of various chloromethyl- or methyl-functional silane coupling agents, widely used in composites, surface treatment, and adhesion promotion.
