IOTA 1203 is a general-purpose hydroxy-terminated polymethyl silicone oil featuring a clear and colorless appearance, low viscosity, and high hydroxyl content (≥8.5%). The reactive hydroxyl groups at both ends of the molecular chain enable participation in various chemical reactions, making it an essential structure control agent for silicone rubber processing, as well as a softening and anti-blocking treatment agent for fabrics, paper, and leather materials.
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Colorless transparent liquid |
| Viscosity (25°C), mm²/s | ≤30 |
| Hydroxyl content | ≥8.5% |
1. Structure Control Agent for Silicone Rubber
In HTV (high-temperature vulcanized) silicone rubber processing, IOTA 1203 acts as a structure control agent, effectively inhibiting the structuring phenomenon between fillers (such as silica) and silicone rubber base polymers. It extends compound shelf life, improves processing flowability, and ensures consistent vulcanizate performance.
2. Softening & Anti-Blocking Treatment
Used as a surface treatment agent for fabrics, paper, and leather, imparting excellent softness while providing good anti-blocking properties, thus enhancing material processability and user comfort.
✅ High hydroxyl content (≥8.5%) – high reactivity, excellent structure control efficiency
✅ Low viscosity (≤30 mm²/s) – good flowability, easy to disperse and blend
✅ Colorless and transparent – does not affect product appearance, suitable for light-colored or transparent products
✅ Strong versatility – applicable to various silicone rubber systems and flexible material treatments
✅ Easy to use – can be added directly with good system compatibility
