IOTA 261 is a hydrogen-containing MQ resin composed of monofunctional siloxane units (M) and tetrafunctional siloxane units (Q), featuring reactive Si–H functional groups. It combines the reinforcement capability of MQ resins with the reactivity of hydrogen-containing silicone oils. It serves as an efficient crosslinker in addition-cure silicone systems, as well as a functional additive for LED encapsulation materials, impact modification, release agents, adhesion promotion, and hydrophilic modification.

1. Crosslinker
Used in addition-cure liquid silicone rubber (LSR), HTV silicone rubber, and other systems to form three-dimensional networks via hydrosilylation between Si–H and vinyl groups.
2. LED Encapsulation Materials
Serves as a crosslinker or reinforcing component in high-transparency, high-refractive-index LED encapsulants, providing excellent mechanical properties and optical clarity.
3. Multi-Functional Modifier
Impact modification – improves toughness and impact resistance
Release agent component – reduces surface energy for easy demolding
Adhesion promoter – enhances substrate adhesion
Hydrophilic modification – introduces hydrophilic groups through further reactions
4. Coating Formulation
Used in silicone coating systems to improve hardness, adhesion, and heat resistance.
Reacts with vinyl-containing polymers via platinum-catalyzed hydrosilylation
Optimal addition level determined experimentally based on crosslinking density requirements and hydrogen content
Avoid contact with moisture, acids, and alkalis during storage and use
✅ Reactive Si–H groups – high crosslinking efficiency
